Christine Gosfield is a photographer and filmmaker whose works document the powerfully transfiguring yet sublime effects of light on ordinary scenes of everyday life.
Gosfield’s long career has been distinguished by her uncanny ability to seize and elevate the candid moment. Characterised by its direct gaze and poignant clarity, her work is held in both private and public collections in Australia and abroad, where it continues to gather a diverse and devoted audience.
Gosfield’s credits include award-winning films for the BBC, the ABC and the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Kingston Springs Suite multimedia presentation commissioned by Johnny Cash; and photographic commissions for The Campaign For Tibet, Inc, Sony Music and Qantas. In 1999, Gosfield was invited to Oaxaca, Mexico to participate in a Master Class with acclaimed photographer, Mary Ellen Mark.
Gosfield’s outstandingly innovate work with tourism podcasting in 2007 won her a Silver in the West Australian Tourism Awards
